The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a highly useful tool for enhancing teamwork, communication, personal development, mediating conflict, managing change, leadership and coaching. What is key to the effective use of the MBTI is its application.
For example, What strategies can I use to communicate more effectively with others (peers, bosses, customers) different from me?
Berney Associates’ Online MBTI Set Up
Prior to the training session, participants take the MBTI online using Berney Associates easy set up (takes about 30 minutes). In session, we provide individually tailored results reports as well as extremely informative booklets from the “Introduction to Type” series.
Methodology
All sessions are highly interactive, mixing participants into a variety of small groups so that they can experience the differences among the personality types. We emphasize the application of the Myers Briggs and provide a toolkit of ”hands-on” strategies to use back at work.
MBTI Training Workshops
Our Introduction to Myers Briggs Workshop (half day) focuses on increasing participants’ self-understanding as well as their understanding of others with different personalities. In addition, participants learn how people’s personality preferences impact others and learn concrete strategies for communicating effectively and respectfully with those with different preferences (peers, bosses, subordinates, customers).
Our Myers Briggs and Teams Workshop (full day) includes the same morning session as the introductory course and in the afternoon, focuses on how different personality preferences impact communication and teamwork. When intact teams take the training, we directly apply the MBTI to these teams using a Team Type Table and Team Type Worksheet to analyze the distribution of personalities in the team and to identify and agree upon concrete strategies to enhance teamwork and communication.
Our Myers Briggs and Leaders Workshop (full day) includes the same morning session as the introductory course and in the afternoon, focuses on the relationship of each personality preference to leadership competencies. Using the MBTI, participants identify their leadership strengths and learn strategies to further enhance their less developed personality preferences. This session uses the Step II form of the MBTI; its multiple subscales or “facets” for each personality
preference offer greater in-depth understanding of type and its relationship to leadership. |
